FUNTI's daily electric motorcycle market brief for October 1, 2026: raw material prices, overseas market regulation and China export data, compiled from public sources for importers, distributors and fleet operators.
FUNTI MARKET INTELLIGENCE · October 1, 2026
① Today's Highlights
- National Day policy lull: today is the first day of the National Day holiday, and the General Administration of Customs and MOFCOM have suspended routine processing. No new export tariff or destination-market access documents dated October 1 were found. Items already in force — Vietnam's fuel tax changes (effective September 30), Brazil's CKD duty-free quota and the Philippines' motorcycle tariff structure — are not repeated here. Bottom line: policy stays quiet through the holiday, with normal processing resuming on October 8; use this period for internal document review and customer checks (public sources, 2026-10-01).
- An export-related technical standard takes effect today: as of October 1, GB/T 47352—2026, the national standard for battery-swap systems of electric motorcycles and mopeds, is in force. It sets unified requirements for swap interfaces, battery-bay clearance (no more than 30 mm), interface flame rating (V0), insulation resistance (at least 100 MΩ) and plug life (at least 9,000 cycles). Bottom line: swap-type export models must align with this specification at the product-definition stage, or retrofitting before shipment costs more (SAMR / Xinhua, 2026-09-16) (reported September 18; new development: effective October 1).
② Raw Materials & FX
- Markets closed: Chinese commodity futures and spot markets are closed from October 1 to 7, reopening on October 8; there is no new price data today, so the figures below are the September 30 close (SHFE holiday schedule).
- FX: on September 30, the RMB/USD central parity was 6.7351, up 60 pips from the previous day; EUR/CNY was 7.6215 and JPY100/CNY 4.2727. Bottom line: the RMB stays firm, so keep stress-testing USD order settlement at 6.70 or stronger (CFETS, 2026-09-30).
- Copper: as of September 30, SMM copper stocks in major Chinese regions rose 0.09 Mt week-on-week to 73,700 t, still low in absolute terms but turning to modest restocking before the holiday; the spot import loss narrowed to RMB650/t, with the import window still closed. Bottom line: low stocks plus import losses keep enamel wire and oxygen-free copper prices firm in the near term (SMM, 2026-09-30).
- Aluminium: on September 30, the SMM alumina index was RMB2,669.17/t, down RMB2.42/t from the previous Thursday, with Western Australia FOB alumina at USD355/t; Foshan A00 aluminium spot carried a RMB260/t premium to the front-month contract, still near a yearly high, and SMM expects about 25,000–28,000 t of holiday restocking in Foshan. Bottom line: tight ingot supply and high premiums mean frame and wheel aluminium should not be priced on falling expectations (SMM, 2026-09-30).
- Overseas: on September 30, LME 3M aluminium closed at USD3,217.5/t, up 0.12%. Bottom line: overseas aluminium is firm as well, echoing low domestic stocks (SMM, 2026-09-30).
③ Overseas Markets
- Philippines: EVAP 2026, the Philippines' new-energy vehicle and charging exhibition, runs October 22–24 at SMX Convention Center, Manila, organised by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines; this is the 14th edition. Bottom line: this is the cheapest single stop after the holiday to meet Southeast Asian two-wheeler and charging buyers and belongs on the October calendar (EVAP / Orient Futai, 2026-03).
- Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand: no new local e-motorcycle access or subsidy documents were found; previously reported items — Hanoi's low-emission zone pilot, Indonesia's purchase subsidy and TKDN local-content rules, Thailand's EV3.5 package — show no new progress and are not repeated (public sources, 2026-10-01).
