On September 18, 2026, FUNTI welcomed a visiting delegation from Envision Co., a Saudi Arabia-based client, at its headquarters and manufacturing base in Taizhou, Zhejiang, China. The visit combined a full factory tour, a hands-on test ride of the MOUCCA flagship electric motorcycle, and in-depth commercial discussions centered on two models earmarked for the Kingdom: the NITRO and the MINO.

The MOUCCA Test Ride: Flagship Performance, Gulf Conditions

The delegation's first stop was the test area, where the MOUCCA was put through its paces. As FUNTI's flagship model, the MOUCCA runs a dual 72V40Ah lithium battery platform — 5.76 kWh in total — driving a 5 kW rated / 9.5 kW peak motor, with a top speed of 100 km/h and a range of up to 200 km. The dual-pack architecture is not simply a range play: it gives the rider redundancy and lets fleet operators split charging across shifts.

The riding impressions focused on three things — immediate torque off the line, stability at sustained high speed, and the confidence inspired by the twin battery packs. For markets where summer ambient temperatures routinely exceed 45°C, the delegation was also attentive to thermal behaviour and pack management, a theme that ran through the rest of the visit.

Inside the FUNTI Factory

The tour covered FUNTI's production flow from frame fabrication and component assembly through battery pack assembly, end-of-line testing and final quality control. The delegation examined the complete manufacturing workflow firsthand, gaining confidence in FUNTI's annual capacity of 100,000 units and the quality system behind it — including battery testing protocols aligned with UN38.3 transport safety requirements.

Beyond the production floor, both teams held in-depth discussions on product specifications, regional customization and after-sales support tailored to the Saudi market. Local requirements for voltage, charging infrastructure, tyre and suspension specification, and spare-parts availability were all on the table.

"Saudi Arabia is one of the most strategically important electrification markets in the Middle East, and the delegation came prepared with very specific questions about battery thermal performance, range under real conditions, and localization options. That level of technical depth is exactly what a long-term partnership is built on." — FUNTI Export Sales Department

Target Models: NITRO and MINO

After the factory review, the delegation identified NITRO and MINO as the two models best matched to Saudi market conditions — and for two clearly different jobs.

NITRO is FUNTI's large sport electric motorcycle. With a 72V40Ah platform delivering 3 kW rated / 6 kW peak power, 80 km/h top speed, 80 km range and a 25° gradeability — the highest in the current line-up — it rides on 17-inch wheels (F 110/70-17, R 130/70-17) with front and rear disc brakes and CBS. Its 2200×790×1140 mm proportions, 1465 mm wheelbase and 160 kg payload ceiling position it for younger, performance-oriented riders who want a motorcycle presence rather than a scooter silhouette.

MINO takes the opposite approach: a compact electric scooter purpose-built for delivery and utility work. Drawing 1.5 kW rated / 4 kW peak from the same 72V40Ah battery platform, it reaches 60 km/h with a 100 km range, rides on 12-inch wheels and carries 150 kg. Light, simple and cheap to run, MINO targets the last-mile delivery fleets that are, across the Gulf, the earliest and fastest adopters of electric two-wheelers.

Model Positioning Key Specs Saudi Fit
MOUCCA Flagship 72V40Ah × 2 (5.76 kWh), 5/9.5 kW, 100 km/h, up to 200 km Test Ridden
NITRO Large Sport 72V40Ah, 3/6 kW, 80 km/h, 80 km, 25° grade, 17" wheels Performance Tier
MINO Compact Delivery 72V40Ah, 1.5/4 kW, 60 km/h, 100 km, 150 kg payload Fleet Core

Why Saudi Arabia, and Why Now

Saudi Arabia's two-wheeler market recorded roughly 66,500 units in 2025 and is projected to reach about 83,290 units by 2030. The headline for FUNTI is not the total, but the composition: electric two-wheelers are the fastest-growing propulsion type, expanding at a 20.15% CAGR from a small base and lifting the electric share of units from around 3% toward 7% by 2030. In value terms, the Kingdom's electric two-wheeler market is forecast to grow from roughly USD 457 million in 2025 to USD 1.77 billion by 2031, a 25.31% CAGR.

Three structural forces sit behind that curve. First, Vision 2030 has made economic diversification and sustainability national policy, with EV infrastructure investment following. Second, the delivery and logistics economy is the single clearest early adopter of electric two-wheelers, and ride-hail, rental and tourism fleets are the fastest-growing end-user segment. Third, local production is arriving: Saudi Arabia's first electric motorcycle plant, in Sudair City, is targeting an annual capacity of roughly 50,000 units by 2026 — a signal that the supply chain, service network and regulatory familiarity are all maturing.

The constraints are equally clear, and they shaped the discussion. Charging coverage outside major cities remains sparse, and extreme summer heat — commonly above 45°C — puts real pressure on battery performance, thermal management and cycle life. Those are engineering problems, not market disqualifiers, and they are exactly the questions the delegation raised.

Compliance: SABER, SASO and the October 2026 Labeling Rule

For any brand entering the Kingdom, conformity is the practical gate. Since June 30, 2024, a Certificate of Conformity has been mandatory for import, issued through Saudi Arabia's SABER platform in two parts: a PCoC (Product Certificate of Conformity), valid for one year and required per model before shipment, and an SCoC (Shipment Certificate of Conformity), required for every consignment to clear customs.

One near-term change deserves attention. Effective October 1, 2026, SASO requires selected regulated products — a scope that includes electrical scooters — to carry the supplier name and Commercial Registration (CR) number directly on the product. Products that do not meet the labeling requirement are not eligible for a CoC, which means they cannot clear customs. For parallel EV infrastructure, Saudi Arabia's revised charger standard SASO IEC 61851-23:2026 now demands testing under localised conditions — 60°C ambient, sand exposure and voltage dips down to 220V ±30% — a clear signal of how seriously the Kingdom is engineering for its own climate.

FUNTI's position is straightforward: for the Saudi market, product configuration and documentation are prepared against the destination's conformity requirements before the first unit ships, not after a container is stuck at port.

Market Insight

Saudi Arabia's electric two-wheeler market is small in absolute volume but is compounding faster than almost any other segment in the region — and the buyer profile is unusually well defined. Delivery and logistics fleets adopt first; premium and sport riders follow. What decides who wins is not sticker price alone, but whether a manufacturer can demonstrate battery performance and thermal stability at 45°C+, supply parts through a real service network, and clear SABER without documentation delays. A motorcycle designed for temperate European conditions and shipped straight to Riyadh is a warranty claim waiting to happen; a platform engineered for heat and dust is a product with a decade of runway. FUNTI's compact delivery and large sport segments map directly onto the two demand pools the Kingdom is actually building.
